MARY EDNA TENORIO (1955– ) and ROBERT TENORIO (1950- )
KEWA POLYCHROME FIREPLACE 1998
Beginning in the 1980s, Robert Tenorio became recognized as Kewa's leading potter. Other family members followed, and hs sister Hilda Coriz (1949–2007) created pieces that match Robert's in quality. Younger sister Mary Edna makes these charming fireplace corners. Robert paints them and puts a scene on the outside of the house as well. There's a similar one on page 99 of the Second Edition of Southwestern Pottery, Anasazi to Zuni.
