SEFERINA BELL (1920–1986)
ZIA POLYCHROME OLLA circa 1975
A friend who knew Seferina and collected her work asked if we could help her with this. It's a classic Seferina olla made during her best period, and it should command a hefty four-figure price. However, something happened, and it got cracks that came close to breaking it in half. We reglued and stabilized the cracks and fixed up the surface damage around them, so that it now looks fine. You can find the cracks if you stare hard at them, and if you buy this, those cracks can remind you that you bought a major piece by the leading Zia potter of the mid-20th century for less than half the price you'd expect to pay. Some fastidious collectors immediately dismiss a pot like this, and because they do, we can offer it for far less than it's really worth.
10-1/2" diameter x 7" high
Condition very good after restoration, cracks stabilized.
